MUSE

Sunday Spa Day is ON! :)
I spoke with Judy and she is ready to pamper us from 10 - 12pm.
I think car-pooling is a good idea...
If you want champagne or fruit or cucumber sandwiches, please BYO.
I'll be picking up a few items but the more the merrier. ;)
There is a Trader Joe's on the way there...
Here's the site again: http://www.musespa.net/
Email me with questions.

Second Saturdays Update

Heya,
This coming weekend is our first monthly Second Saturday meet-up.
Bring your family and something good to eat. :)
We will be in the Clubhouse from approx. 12 - 4pm, coming and going.
For those who don't live in Riverbend or Hudson Club -- the Clubhouse is on the River and there are signs in our neighborhood pointing to it and the Leasing Office (same building).
It's on the 2nd floor. There is elevator access inside.
From the Promenade, it's the 2-story building next to the pool with the aerobic studio facing out.
See you there!

Photographer Recommendation

Kellie and I have both used her and she is fantastic!!
**Obvs the photo quality of the pics on this post is shoddy -- I had to actually take a pic of my laptop in order to post them. **

Recipe(s) of the Week(s)

I neglected the Recipe of the Week segment last week...oops!
Here are two Halloween-themed recipes (for us to try at our upcoming Halloween party). They are both courtesy of Sandra Lee. Love her!! She has a coordinating cocktail with every meal. Awesome! :)

Vampire Kiss Martini

1 part vodka, chilled
1 part Champagne
1 part Chambord
Garnish with wax teeth/candy corn/blood orange slicePour vodka in a martini glass, top with Champagne and pour a little of the Chambord over the back of a spoon to make it float.

Creepy Cookie Cake

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping (recommended: Cool Whip)
1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate sandwich cookies plus 10 whole cookies (recommended: Oreo)
1 (9-inch) chocolate pie crust

Combine softened cream cheese and sugar in mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until creamy. Add sour cream and vanilla, beat until well combined. Stir in cool whip and crushed cookies. Spoon mixture into pie crust using a rubber spatula to spread evenly. Refrigerate for 4 to 5 hours before serving.

To decorate: Through a fine sifter, heavily sprinkle cocoa powder over the cake to make it look like dirt in a graveyard.

To make tombstone cookies scrape the cream filling out of chocolate cookies. Cut off ends of cookies so as to make a rectangular shape.

Using royal icing in a piping bag, pipe spooky decorations and words on the tombstone cookies. Examples: BOO, RIP.

Bellydancing Curse

I am formally trained.
I was a professional instructor back home in Orlando.
I taught bellydance, strip cardio, exotic aerobics, and other twisted dance classes.
I was in a burlesque group called The Candy Cabaret (see Can-Can pic to the left).
I chose a time in between Hunter's feeding and nap schedule.
I bought a new hip-scarf.
I burned a new bellydancing CD.
I outlined my warm-up and all of the steps for Intro Class.
I am WELL beyond prepared to teach.
Yet I've only been able to teach one (well 2 if you count the test-class) class!
Tomorrow's class is cancelled because I have a fever tonight and don't want to infect any babies in case I am contagious. :(
Argh! I am frustrated and disappointed.
Sorry!
I thought for sure by the time Hunter was 6 months (he is now 7) I'd be back in my "dancin' shoes".
Next week I will be in the gym at 2pm.
Sharp.
Be there if you want sore abs.

The Turning Point Pictures

Go here: My Gallery to see pics of your little ones...
Below are some of the pictures from our Family Brunch.
There's no pic of Kellie & Maddie Jo because she was eating when I came around with the camera. :( So sorry! There aren't any pics of our family, either since I was the photographer.
Did anyone take one of us?
Anyhoo, we really enjoyed ourselves -- thanks for coming! :)
The Turning Point hooked us up by giving us our own room. That was so convenient.
As I looked around the room, I noticed other Mommies (and Dads) going through all of the same motions of feeding, bouncing, entertaining, cuddling, and communicating with their babies.
Even though it can be challenging to take our little monchichis out for a brunch date, we still managed to arrive, eat (mmmm - stuffed french toast!), and fit in some socialization to an otherwise gloomy Saturday afternoon.
I didn't alter any of the shots with fancy photo-work -- they are just RAW files. I can if you'd like. Just email me. :)

Fine, then...but next week BETTER be "The Women" movie...even though I won't be around to see it. It would only make sense & it looks sooo good!
