Tonight my little monkey was sitting up in his crib while I put away some clean clothes in his drawers. I watched as he pulled himself up onto his knees by holding on to his crib rail. He bounced up and down on his knees and sang and laughed for about a minute or two.
Then he shakily pulled himself up to standing position, still holding on to his crib rail. This scared me because the rail came up to his waist and he could easily topple over. So I made a mental note to lower his crib this weekend and continued to watch him.
He then swung his left leg and then the right leg over the rail and jumped for it! He landed in my arms, of course, since I was watching it all progress. But still...he climbed and jumped!! And he's not even walking unassisted...needless to say I changed the mattress level TONIGHT.
I know he's growing up and these are things they can do at his age but until you see it for the first time you really don't think they are capable.
Where has my little inanimate baby gone?
